Terms
Plain terms for a small piece of work. If anything here is unclear, ask before you pay rather than after.
What you are buying
A technical audit of one website: fifteen categories checked against your live site and a selection of its most important pages, delivered as a shareable report and a PDF. One competitor is compared alongside it if you name one.
What it is not
- It is not implementation. The audit identifies problems; fixing them is separate work and is quoted separately if you want it.
- It is not a guarantee of search rankings, traffic or sales. Nobody can honestly promise those, and this does not.
- It is not a penetration test. Everything is measured from the outside, using what any visitor's browser already receives.
Price and payment
The price is fixed and quoted before any work begins. It does not change afterwards, and there is no retainer or subscription. Payment is due on delivery of the report unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Delivery
Within two business days of receiving your website address. If something delays it — your site being unreachable, for instance — you will be told rather than left waiting.
Refunds
If the report is not delivered, you pay nothing. If it is delivered and you believe it is not what was described here, say so within 14 days and you will be refunded in full.
One honest limit on that: a refund is not available simply because the findings were fewer or less dramatic than hoped. A site in good condition is a legitimate result, and reporting it accurately is the service working, not failing.
Your website
You confirm that the site you send is yours, or that you are authorised to request an audit of it. Nothing is installed, no logins are needed, and nothing on your site is changed by the audit.
Your report
The report is yours to use however you like — share it with a developer, attach it to a quote request, publish it. It is not shown to anyone else by me, and it is not used as a sample.
Accuracy, and its limits
Findings are checked by hand before the report is sent. Even so, an audit describes a website at one moment in time, and websites change. If you think something is wrong, tell me — it will be re-checked and corrected without argument.
Where a check cannot be completed, the report says so rather than guessing. Those items are listed openly as not assessed.
Cancelling
Before the audit has run, cancel by replying to any message; nothing is owed. Once the report has been delivered, the refund terms above apply.
