Lightening Tech Evidence, not opinion

Privacy

Last updated 8 September 2026 — the studio’s name changed from Lightening Auditor to Lightening Tech on this date. Nothing else in this document changed.

The short version: this website sets no cookies, loads nothing from anyone else, and does not track you. If we end up talking, it will be by email or messaging app, and I keep only what is needed to do the work.

What this website collects

Nothing that reaches us. There are no analytics, no advertising pixels, no embedded fonts or scripts from other companies, and no cookies. Every file the page loads comes from this domain. Nothing about your visit is recorded beyond the ordinary server logs our host keeps to deliver the page.

One thing is stored, and only in your own browser: if you pick the light or dark theme, that choice is saved so the site does not forget it on the next page. It is kept in local storage rather than a cookie, which matters here — a cookie would be sent to the server with every request, and this is not. It never leaves your device, it holds one word, and clearing your browser data removes it. Until you pick, nothing is stored at all and the theme follows your system setting. No location lookup is made, and nothing about you is sent anywhere.

What happens when you contact me

If you email, message on WhatsApp, or write on Instagram, I receive what you send — typically your name, your contact details and your website address. I use it to reply and to run the audit you asked for. That is all.

  • I do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone.
  • I do not add you to a mailing list because you got in touch.
  • Correspondence is kept while we are talking and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to it.

Audit reports

An audit examines a website that is already public, using the same information any visitor's browser receives. The resulting report is yours. It is not published, and it is not shown to anyone else.

Cold outreach

If you received an email from me that you did not ask for, it was sent to a business address, and it contains a working unsubscribe link and a postal address.

Where that address came from, precisely — because “a public source” was not accurate enough. Two steps, and neither of them is a purchased list:

  • How I found the business. Usually a public post the owner wrote themselves — on Reddit, a WordPress support forum or a similar place — asking for help with their own website, and naming it. Sometimes a public business listing instead.
  • How I got the email address. I read it off that company’s own website, where they had published it for people to contact them — on a contact, terms, privacy or policy page. I keep a note of which pages it was visible on, and I will show you that note if you ask.

I do not buy contact lists and I have never used one. No home address, no phone number the business has not published itself, and nothing about anyone in a private capacity.

It is used once, to send an audit of that company’s own public website. You can object at any time and I will stop.

One thing I want to be exact about, because it sounds like a contradiction: using the unsubscribe link does not erase your address — it moves it onto a do-not-contact list, and it stays there. That list is the only way I can be sure never to write to you again, and it is checked before anything is ever sent. Erasing the record entirely would mean I could rediscover the same public address next month and email you a second time. If you would rather I deleted everything and took that risk, say so and I will.

Your rights

You can ask what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email admin@getlightening.com and I will action it.
